League totals

I am having trouble getting the league batting average where I want it to be. I am playing a standard MLB game but with fictional players. I adusted the babip down to .299 thinking that it would affect the league average, but after. 3 years of simming it does not seem to. All other league totals are where I want them to be except league average which needs to be taken down about 10 points. How do you suggest I do this? Has anyone found the right settings to have era about 4.30 and league ba about .260. (obviously the American league should be a liittle higher and national a little lower). Thanks.

Adjusting League Totals is a bad idea. Only a handful of people know how to do that to get the results they want (and I am not one of them). There really ought to be some warning on the Strategy page to discourage people from doing that.

What I would do is adjust the Modifier (known as the League Total Modifier) next to Hits. Do it in percentages. For example, adjust it up or down by 10% of the value you see there (or whatever amount). Hope that helps.

Sorry I have been adjusting the modifiers. Even when get the league totals sort of close I realize that there are twice as many players hitting over .300 as there were in real life last year.

Since you are using fictional players, it does not seem that comparing to real life players is useful. The game does the best it can with the Player Creation Modifiers, but they are still fictional players. Other than the PCMs, the only control is what happens with the League as a whole. Moreover, I suspect that you are starting off with the LTMs all set to the default value of 1.000 (though I could be wrong about that). With those LTMs you won't get stats for the first season to closely mirror what happened in that season IRL. Just some observations.
