Current season expansion question

OK, so I don't do as much historical simming as I get the feeling most here do ... what I most enjoy is playing the current major league season with as realistic rosters as possible ... also, I enjoy using the new major league season (current season) and expanding by two teams, re-configuring conferences, divisions, etc. ...

The problem I have with this type of expansion is filling out the minor league teams ... the expansion draft only allows 35 picks ... even delaying the major league season by a week and minor league seasons by a week or two, it is difficult to get the minor teams all filled with FAs, waiver pick-ups, etc. ... I usually end up deleting 2-3 minor league teams so I only have a couple to fill ... it also takes a long time since you have to offer FAs one at a time ...

Does anyone know if there is a solution to this - something I have overlooked or am doing wrong?

I've run into the same problem. At first I tried deleting minor teams but that wasn't successful as the same error message kept popping up for non-existent teams ( not enough active players for a scheduled game ).

I ended up turning on ghost players. It's a fudge but removes a lot of hassle. No problems with minor teams and lack of players now.

It can go up to 60 people unprotected.
Will it show up automatically if the Computer going expand your League by it's self let say for example it wants to put a team in New Orleans and Green Bay will I see it in the news same for when Computer relocates a Team?

You could fill the rest of the expansion teams rosters with fictional players, but since you seem to like things more realistic this might not be an option for you.

The major issue here is with expansion teams is there just isn't enough players to go around without having fictional and/or ghost players.

Wait about 3 to 4 years into the 2010 season, Make the draft players X like 37 so their are enough players in FA to fill a roster. I wait that long for the reason you made above. Not enough players!

Isn't that why the (Devil) Rays and Diamondbacks started drafting (in the Rule 4 First-Year Draft) two years before they started playing in the majors, and had lower-level teams set up beforehand?
