Almanac Issues: No history generated!

This would have been my 3rd Almanac. The others, produced on OOTP 8 and 9 worked fine. This one, on 11, produces no history for my ongoing league.

I didn't change any settings, etc. and get this error message when I hit the link for the league history in the web browser that pops up:

Firefox can't find the file at. . . Documents/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 11/saved_games/backup.lg/news/almanac_2012/history/league_101_index.html.

And the history folder is completely empty.

Help?

When you set up the Almanac, did you go into the reports and select everything you wanted individually? Sounds like you may not have checked the History box. Click the top "Edit Profile" and check to ensure you have History selected. By default it is not selected.

Oh. I know the pain, brother. A few of my best leagues were ruined in an instant. At least you've warned others.

Luckily, I RAR backup everything before any major events like post season, almanac time, spring training, etc.

Disregard my last.

Even though I went and checked to save the history, it did not.

I'm back where I started.

Workaround:

Generated the Almanac in 9 with a backup of my league that I mad just after the W.S., then moved that history file to the 11 almanac. Seems to work fine, just hoping next year's isn't a problem.

Glad you found a workaround and I'll remain optimistic for you in the next year. While we are on the subject of Almanacs, I'm always a bit unknowing about whether I should use them or, if I do, what to include. One, I play SO slowly, it would be unusual for me to have one or two generated by the next version's release. Two, I'm not sure I ever really understood how they're utilized by those who record them religiously. Is it leaderboards at the time? What's the draw, and given my turtle-pace, what would you recommend in the way of checkboxes? All of them? Thanks in advance and don't mean to hijack. Just asking while it's fresh in my mind and related to your apparent affection for its history.

I play each game out. I start my season on real opening day, and end my playoffs sometime during really baseball's playoff run.

I just have the Almanac auto generate on 1/1 of each new year. It's typically not a hassle and is a really nice reference guide to have during games, when some stats aren't available.

Oh, so while you're playing a game, you access the Almanac occasionally for stats and/or reference?

and btw, IRS% has already been submitted - again - for consideration in patch or next version. Not going to give up on that one.

Yes, if you start it prior to a game since it runs in a web browser.

Good, IRS% is needed badly!
