3-2 USA!!!
Great goal after Canada has dominated most of the second quarter.

I know next to nothing about hockey, but I would have thought Canada looks better this game. Maybe the US is getting luckier shots? Maybe there's a goalie advantage?

They are two evenly matched teams in which the USA wants it more at the moment. |

I feel the same way. I think maybe the Canadians are playing a little tight too.

Canada dominated large chunks of that second half. USA is very lucky to be ahead IMO.

Brodeur is not playing well and Miller is. That was the concern (fear) going into this tournament. Miller is so good that the US could win the whole thing.

There's going to be some huge second guessing of whether Luongo should have been the starter instead of Brodeur if Canada loses this game (and they don't win the gold when the games REALLY start mattering here), but there shouldn't be. Brodeur's the right man for the job in a big tourney like this - he's just not getting it done right now. |

NBC FAILED!
I mean, SERIOUSLY! I thought they were going to show a tape dealy in abit of the game. But NOOOO, they switched to the game at the very last 5 seconds of the game, and showed the USA defeat Canada 5-3. I have NEVER been so damned disapointed in my life with a network covering a major sporting event. I mean, NEVER! ![]() ![]()

Full marks to the US. They had a game plan, stuck to it and rode a hot goaltender to victory. I was not impressed by the tentative nature of the Canadian game. It seemed slow and predictable.

Luango's GAA is 2.35. I dont know that any coach could bench Brodeur in a game like this. The goalie matchup looks pretty damn even on paper. Last edited by jbergey22; 02-21-2010 at 11:07 PM. |
