Retired Players Turning Into Coaches?

Been playing this game for a couple months and love it. Anyway my main questions are do retired players turn into coaches randomly/automatically, or does the computer randomly just generate new ones, or is it a combo of both. Curious about this as I'm thinking of just manually turning some into coaches myself, but want to figure it all out first. Oh and also does the coach's quality ie stats etc reflect the quality of player he was, amd or possibly intelligence leadership stats? Thanks

I think you have to manually turn the players into coaches.
I maybe wrong about this, but I hope this will be a nice bump so that somebody else will be able to help you.

Retired players will occasionally be converted into coaches automatically; however these converted players usually have terrible personnel ratings regardless of their quality/intelligence as a player. You can of course manually convert players into personnel. The same caveat applies: don't expect them to be rated highly.

You can, of course, edit their ratings the same as you can a players. Must be in Commissioner mode to do this.

This is actually in true IRL for the most part as well. Excellent players does not mean they will be good coaches, so I think the game actually models this pretty well.

Still I´m hoping for a better system for turning players into coaches and managers.

Heck, most coaches/managers have played the game and are converted, so OOTP so perhaps base the turning on not the stats BUT leadreship, intelligence and perhaps some of the others similar gradings.

One could manually change those numbers while he plays the game and then he could be a potential good leader when retired.

uummm...lol, good players do not make good coaches most of the time.

How do you manually turn players into coaches?

I'm looking at the player editor, all it allows me to do is change their positions. How would I manually convert a player to a coach? Thanks

if the player is retired, you can right click the name and there will be an option to turn the retired player into a coach

Thanks. I'm going to turn Clemente into a coach when he retires.
