My biggest OOTP wish
I know I've said this before, but all the talk of the new edition inspires me to put it on the table once again. For me, the biggest drawback to the kinds of leagues I'd like to create and play with is the inability of the game to handle a world where independent leagues have separately evolving financials. What I would love is to be able to set up a world with, for example:
Major League - USA Independent minor league 1 Independent minor league 2 International league 1 International league 2 (think of baseball in the 1930s/40s, for example) Then, I'd like to give separate initial financial situations - Majors make the big buck, one of the two minor leagues is clearly superior, ditto the international leagues and then have ticket prices, player salaries, and so on evolve. Currently, the only way to maintain those basic structures is to set financials once and not have them change. So, players in a given league are making the same in 1940 and 1955. Along with this, a "Purchase Contract" transaction would add a lot for those of us who enjoy playing in earlier-style baseball markets. Thanks for listening. I think financials present some of the most interesting GM decisions and options in the game, but I think they could be developed much more soundly than they currently are. I think these are all good ideas and deserve a serious look, even if only for XII and not XI.
