Vista problem

Apologies for posting this here, rather than the Technical forum, but the latter hasn't been very responsive on this issue; the last post was 1/12/10 (from me). A lot of comments on the issue; nice efforts to help by others in the community; but nothing from "the company".

So, a simple question...

Why isn't this issue being fixed? I just tried d/l-ing again - with the same result reported by dozens of others over the past 6 mos ...ie, NOTHING happens.

Why isn't this patched?

Per my initial msg in this thread, I (and many many others) can't run the thing anymore on Vista.

I just spent 2 hrs, during a very boring confcall in my office, re-installing it 3 times. No dice.

So, after buying and enjoying every version since about ootp4 ...I'm outa here.

Thanks, but I've done EVERYTHING suggested in the Tech forum on this topic. I've Tried) running as Administrator (It doecn't work; turned off DEP; turned off every gd filter I could find. I've tried these in every on/off combination I could think of.

This is a business laptop; a pretty powerful, new, sophisticated amchine. I'm sure I've probably screwed it up for business purposes. It will probably start auto-downloading Paris Hilton tapes and get me fired.

The point is, no other program - business or personal - presents such problems. Not since my first AT in ~1985, have I had to do so much fiddling to get a program to work. Even Earl Weaver Baseball (best bb game ever) in 1991 worked like a charm compared to this.

This is insane.

Are you by any chance running ZoneAlarm? OOTP X will not run on any computer that has any ZA product that includes ZA Forcefield installed (not necessarily running, just installed). I had to switch security software to get OOTP X to run.
