Logos help and more...

I've been making up a solo league for myself that is kind of involved with multiple layers of teams and leagues. Trying to create the perfect league for myself, I decided that I needed to have logos. I wanted to use the logos of the other major sports (NBA, NFL, NHL) and several colleges (not just the baseball ones.) Fortunately, someone recently posted the college logos on Padresfan's wonderful web-site and they look great. For the other logos, the only way I seem to have had any success was to find the logos as a .svg file and convert them into the usable .png format. Is this the easiest way? I've seen that some people are willing to make logos for people, and while that is fantastic, and overly nice, in the end this is something I need to learn to do on my own.

2nd question...

What about caps and jersey colors too. I'm no artist and don't do the paint shop thing. As far as I'm concerned, I just want to get the colors close enough. (example, marlins blue would work for Tarheels). Is there a quick route for this that doesn't require a ton of work?

ANY help I could get would be really appreciated. I can't thank you in advance enough.

I have made a bunch of NHL jerseys and the link to them is in my signature. You check them out in photobucket and the compilation of uniforms is a link to the zip file. I have done a bunch of fictional uni's also.

For both applications, the best thing to do is download a freeware graphics editor. I swear by using paint.net (and occasionally Inscape for lettering). This will let you import any save file and export it as a png file. Other people use GIMP (free) or Photoshop (not free). I've found the learning curve easier with Paint.net as opposed to GIMP, but GIMP is overall more powerful. If you do use Paint.net, there is a plug in that allows you to view photo shop files making it able to do what ever you need while retaining the ease of use.

For uniforms and caps, there is a photo shop file* floating around with different uniform styles that will allow you to swap out colors to make 90% of the uniforms in a matter of minutes.

If you have any questions, shoot me a PM. I'm by no means an expert at graphics, but having recently gone from no knowledge to being able to crank out a logo or uniform, I think I bring a more newbie-friendly approach than someone who does art work for a living.

*Its called "Custom Cap and Jersey Template" and its on padresfan's mod site under FaceGen.
