Does temperature affect anything?
I just started a winter league (November to roughly March) and some of the 24 includes Minnesota, Buffalo, Portland, and Billings. Clearly not warm weather cities. So should I expect my players to have ratings drop when their freezing their butts off? Obviously I'll have to content with some snowed out games
![]() I actually wanted all their stadiums to be domed, but when I click the edit colors and ballparks etc. button I can only rename the ballpark. Shouldn't I be able to change the dimensions, roof structure etc? oh and P.S. Hello to all of you on the ootp board. I've been skimming this boards for years now but only today decided to join the community Last edited by greengold01; 11-13-2009 at 04:09 PM. |

I know that rain affects pitchers adversly. I would assume that cold weather might also.
You should be able to change the ballpark to dome. Do you have a demo version? I know you can in the full version. |

You have to be in commissioner mode to edit stadiums. Just switch to comish mode, put a roof on the stadiums, then you can switch back.

You may want to consider using a different weather file for each city. After all it is your universe. ![]() Welcome to the board. Have you been playing the game all this time?

I'm just kind of openly pondering here, but even if his league is set in winter, wouldn't it still match up roughly to the league totals modifiers? I guess it kind of depends what is factored in first. But it seems to me that the league totals should pretty much say what the total statistical output of the league should be when averaged out over the length of the season, no matter what the weather is. But the game could pretty much be programmed to start at the league totals, and then penalize for poor weather. In which case, one would have to think of the league totals as what the league totals would be in optimal weather.
Either way, I usually factor weather conditions into my park factors. For example, in my European League, I have teams in northern Russia (in outdoor stadiums). One can bet that the offenses will have a hard time getting going in the cold weather, and so I adjust accordingly. Last edited by conception; 11-13-2009 at 05:54 PM. |

Injuries are more likely to occur in cold weather.

Maybe that's why my Moscow team can never hit homers....to tell you the truth, I've never bothered to think about it. Going to have to put a dome up! |

Good to know also that cold weather incurs more injuries, as it should. I was about to change the weather files to 70 degrees across the board to compensate for the lack of a dome ![]() And yes, I'm a OOTP 6 vet |

Your best bet is to build a dome. |
