Patch problems with uploads/downloads

I run an online league and I've updated to the patch.

Everything installed fine. Everything looked alright until I went to download the team exports. Using the 'import all teams' button generated errors for every single team. They imported fine when I went through and did them one by one.

I ran the sim. No problems. When I went to upload the reports and league file, it stalled at 2% on the league file. It will not go beyond 2%. It just stops. No error message. The game doesn't freeze. The progress box just goes away and nothing uploads.

Does OOTP provide support anymore?

My league is kaput if there isn't a solution for this.

did you install the patch then import the files (that i assume were made from an older version?) or import the files then patch? I think for it to work right you have to import then patch otherwise the imports are for the wrong version.

just a guess.

When you upload the league file, do you use automator or manually have the game upload it?

If you use a 3rd party FTP program and upload the file using the same username/password outside of the game does it work there?

Patch question

I downloaded the latest patch- was I supposed to download both?

It says the following on the patch list?

10.4.31 Fix/Feature List Friday, 16 October 2009 23:37 10.4.31 contains only fixes.

10.4.31 Fixes

It's important to note that most of the bugs listed below only appeared in very rare circumstances. If a bug was logged publicly, more detail may be found in the Logged Issues or Closed/Claimed Fixed forums. Use the forum search capability to search for threads with the bug # in the title!
  • Exported reports will now be properly formated on external browsers (there was a problem with the included CSS file and some templates)
  • Fixed greyed-out "Save" button in the save filter and save custom view dialog
  • Fixed the way "Keep log for X..." options work, it now should work as intended, with the "All" option not clearing any logs
  • Pitchers will no longer be created with just a fastball and a sinker as the repertoire
  • The "vs. Team" pulldown menu in the pitching stats section of the player profile will now work properly, sometimes it did not
  • The "Last Pitch" display in the game broadcast view now works properly

10.4.31 contains only fixes.

Am I getting all the new features?

I use the automator.

If I manually create the archive files and upload them via ftp, it works.

You say if you manually have the game upload them via Ftp (not using the automator, but using the manual upload within the game) it works? Or you are saying using ftp outside of the game?

Can you tell me what your league file upload settings within your ftp options are? (I don't need hostname/username/password, just interested in the upload path, league file name)

I can upload manually through FTP, but not with the automator.

League File Download:
/public_html/forum/leaguefile

League File name:
MLB

Report Upload:
/public_html/forum/reports

Before the patch, it worked fine.

After the patch, again, the import all teams button from the exports center generates errors for every single team. Importing them one by one by clicking 'import' works.

When I go to upload the files through the automator, it quits after 2%. No error messages pop up, it just stops and returns me back to the league as if nothing happened.

Can you change your settings to the following and try it again:

League File Download:
/public_html/forum/leaguefile/

League File name:
MLB

Report Upload:
/public_html/forum/reports/

I've heard of others having issues with the patch treating paths without the trailing / differently. I am curious to see if this resolves your issue.

Well, the files upload now. But they aren't uploading the updated file. They're uploading the last sims files.

Anybody?

For $40 some customer service would be nice, not this forum support crap where people who don't work for the company try and help. (Thanks to the people who HAVE helped - especially AlanT.)

My league is screwed until this is fixed and so are several others.

Sorry, I've had a ton of people I've been helping lately and meant to come back to this one as well. Your current problem is that when you upload the file, it works now but it is always the previous file that is uploaded?

Can you tell me how you are uploading the file and how you are verifying that the file is actually uploading correctly? (as opposed to seeming to upload but not actually uploading right, leaving the one on the server being the previous week file still)?

Tried uploading through the automator and manually through FTP. Both upload the file fine at this point.

It's just a matter of the game creating the wrong archive. To verify that the upload 'worked,' I had other GM's download the file. But it is always at the wrong date.

HELLO TECH SUPPORT??!?!?!?

Great league being held in limbo due to no support from the company who SHOULD be supporting their own product, but I have only seen posts from other helpful owners

Bob, can you do the following in either your league or a test league:

Run the sim forward however many days you want (7 is fine for instance)

After the 7 days finish, go to: Commissioner Home

On the left side of the page under Commish Actions, click on the League File Center

In the "Archive and Upload League Files" box that opens up, set the days to 7 for each entry, make sure you have the other boxes checked and then click the Create Files button at the bottom of the box.

After the file creation is finished, Click on the Create Archive button

Once that is finished, click on the Upload Archive button.

Once that finishes, Look at the entry for: "Destination folder for archive on local drive" Whatever folder it lists there, can you open that folder up in Windows Explorer. Inside of that folder should be your leaguename.tar.gz file. What is the date on that file? Open that file up inside of Winzip or whatever other application. You should see a leaguename.tar file, what is the date on it? Finally, open that tar file up as well and you should see the individual .dat files. What are their dates?

Do all of those dates match?
