activating from DL

I'm sure I'm being stupid here and I've looked through the manual but can't find anything.

I have a guy ready to be activated from the DL. When I try to drag him to my AAA side it tells me I have to activate him first. Do I have to put him on my MLB roster or am I missing something??

Unfortunately, you have to clear a 25-man roster slot first in order to reactivate the player, and then you can send him down to the minors.

Note that in this case OOTP works differently than it does in the real world, where MLB clubs can reinstate a player from the DL and send him to the minors essentially as a simultaneous transaction; they don't have to free up a 25-man roster spot first.

It's already been suggested that OOTP correct this transaction aspect to work like it does in real life.
