Substituting Player Pictures for Generated Pictures

I have a few players whose pictures were not included in the last PadresFan picture pack that I would like to add in. These were mostly minor league guys who have since risen to the major league level (in my OOTP world, that is).

Problem is, I cannot get the pictures to work the way I see the other pictures working.

I tried adding the picture as %firstname%_%lastname%.png and .jpg. No luck. Strangely, if I replace a picture already present with that name format then all is well. For example, a player had played for a different team the previous year and his picture was with his old team's gear. If I go and get a headshot of him with his new team's gear, save it over the existing player photo, it will update correctly.

My only workaround so far has been to have the game generate a face, then download the real image and save it over the generated picture. It's not terribly cumbersome, just irritating.

Is there a better way? And, if there is not, then how can I have the image file renamed to in the format %firstname%_%lastname%.png without breaking the association between the image and the player record?

Not sure if I understand your question correctly or not, but if you're adding a completely new pic, (One that is not already in the saved game\\\images folder) then you have to close and restart your game in order for the changes to take effect. The game won't update the new pics while it's running unless you're replacing an existing pic. Hope this helps ya..

The reason a new pic doesn't show up when the game is running is because that info loads when the game loads not while it is running. Sounds like you're doing everything right except for restarting your saved game afer you add your new pics.
