Gold Glove RF

Anyone else notice that RF's make many MORE errors than LF's and CF's?

Is something screwy going on?.....

My guess is that an average RF fields the ball much less the a CF and LF due to the amount of RHB exceeding LHB.

What I meant to say is that since they don't field the ball as much, they don't get enough practise to be sure fire smooth fielders.....

Just kidding of course.

My deep-dive study of a fictional on-line league shows RF made fewer errors than CF or LF. Though my data didn't include throwing errors...so it could be just a little off.

LF and CF do get more opportunities to make throwing errors, also. *shurg*

Something curious: In OOTP 9, RF was the "easier" of the two corner outfield spots to play; i.e., outfielders with equal OF defensive skill ratings would be ranked higher at RF than LF. But in OOTP X, it's the reverse--RF is the more "difficult" to field.

Based on what I've seen in my OOTP X league, some of the worst OF defenders are still being put at RF, which may account for the error discrepancy. Once I've played through my current season I'll check out the results.
