Is this possible
Would I be able to run an historical league starting in 2008 and have it include the actual major league AND the actual minor league players and teams? Or does the historical database include only real major league players? Thanks.

No, if you start a league in 2008, it will, like all historical leagues, only have players who played at least partly in the majors. The only way you can get real players thru entire organizations is to play the 2009 MLB game. That is because some volunteers created a game which included all of the current professionals.

What you could do is get one of last years OOTP 9 2008 Roster Files, and import it to OOTP X. There's one on Padres Fan Site on this page. It's the one labeled MLB setup for OOTP 9. That's a full roster file top to bottom.
