Pitchers Hitting (?)

Is it just me or does it seem that the pitchers hitting is a bit elevated in clutch situations.

Could be just coincidence, but never fails, either my guy or the opponent seems to give that magical 2 out / 2 on hit very often.

Might I add, even though the above mentiioned, this is by far the most enjoyable versions since I have been playing (Ver 2)

Obviously just anecdotally speaking, I haven't statistically analyzed with a large sample of data...but...isn't it always a double or triple as well? With the pitcher being a 1/20 contact hitter? Don't remember this happening so much with previous versions.

I think one reason we get so miffed at it and remember is that we let our guard down by thinking - "Phew, it's just the pitcher hitting, here comes a K or ground out".

have to start pitching around the pitchers to get back to the top of the lineup

Legions of posters will confirm that the game is guilty of a catalog of nefarious behaviors.

I remember, back in the day of 6.51, I had a historical replay of the Yankees in the 1960s. I had a pitcher, Jim Coates, you hit the living snot out of the ball for years. He had like a .425 average over 7 years. I used him as a pinch hitter too.

And if you look at his career, he was no Drysdale.

Very new to game, running my 1st league, and yes, pitchers with 6 contact and 3 power hit 2 out dingers against me (ok only once). Does seem to be alot of hits by pitchers.

Pitchers hit like pitchers in my league . I don't think I could count the number of times I've intentionally walked a batter to get to the pitcher and then get the K, pop-up, or weak ground ball to get out of the inning.

But then again in my last game (104th of the season) the opposing pitcher came to bat. I was admiring the new "batter screen" widget that shows career stats and saw this pitcher in 12 years of MLB play had never hit a HR (1 contact, 3 power on the 1-20 scale). He proceeded to hit a HR I guess I better keep an eye on this

Seriously though before jumping to conclusions I would document how many times this happens along with how many times it doesn't. More than likely sample size\chance or simply remembering the abnormal occurrence while the normal occurrence doesn't stick in your mind.
