Odd ratings question
Has anyone here tried to create a boxer on Fight Night 3 using Title Bout Ratings? I ask because I have FN3 and it is extremely lacking in available fighters. I like tinkering with games more than playing them it seems, but I want to do some cpu vs cpu What-if bouts. Title Bout seems to have great attribute ratings, but I can't figure out how to best use them to create my FN3 boxers.
Below are the FN3 ratings and what they mean in that game. Any and all input will be appreciated. Btw I've looked for CAB's on the net but they are just for what the fighter looks like. I don't care what they look like.. I just want them to fight right or as close as possible. Power= Power of the punch Speed= Speed of the punch Agility= Speed of movement and leaning Stamina= Rate of energy loss and gain Chin= Shield of head punches Body= Shield of body punches Heart= rate of health recovery Cuts= protection against cuts and swelling Thanks |

It might help if you specified which boxers you are interested in and post the stats for a couple of reference boxers from FN3. |

OK, here's an example.
Ray Robinson vs Jake Lamotta Power 75/80 speed 80/65 Agil. 75/60 Stam. 80/90 Chin 80/90 Body 80/90 heart 80/90 cuts 90/50 When I set this matchup to cpu vs cpu. Lamotta destroys Robinson every time! The reason is Lamotta's power is too high according to Title Bout ratings at least. I have messed around with this particular matchup for the last several days trying to tune it in... and I have come a long way in getting a pretty realistic looking bout. The problem is I don't really want to tune in every fighter that I create for days especially since I really am no boxing expert. I want to use Title Bout as my expert and just figure out a way to use it's ratings to create whoever I want in like 10 minutes or so. ... more to come |

Sorry for spreading this over several posts, but if I take to long I somehow get logged out. Then, when I try to post my message, I end up losing all of my work... which sux because my spacebar doesn't always work, which makes typing a chore
I had actually typed out a long introductory post, but it got wiped and I'm too tired to type anymore right now (whew!!) |

yeah, They are both Middleweights in FN3. The game doesn't give an overall rating other than a blue or red bar beside their name. The taller that bar is the higher rated the fighter. Robinson's bar is a tad higher than Lamotta's bar. So overall he is rated higher.
If I drop lamotta's power to 55, SSR takes a pounding but wins most of the time. This makes me think that the fight engine has potential, but their ratings are jacked up in one way or another. thanks for the input!! This has been driving me crazy |

You have to give Robinson more power then LaMotto
What has to be remembered in there meetings for real that although Robinson won 5 of the 6 fights in 2 of the others the decisions were very close and could have gone LaMotto's way. Robinson was the best WW ever no doubt about that in most people's eyes. At MW great as Ray Robinson was he was beatable, If you let LaMotto win about 1 in 3 you are not far out. In 10 fights. I see Robinson at MW -- W6 L2 D2 just a little guide for you. |

I've finished trying to fix FN3 and accept that some games can't be made sim because they weren't meant to be by the creators. FN4 maybe has real potential because it has a wider variety of attributes. Up to now I've hesitated to invest in the PS3 because it seems, with other sports titles, that game makers have sacrificed gameplay for graphics.
It's hard to believe that the games that I craved as a child of the '70's (Title Bout & other board titles) are still the most realistic games some 30 years later. At least now I can afford to buy them, but I have been spoiled by graphics and eye candy. I guess the first thing to go in the aging process is the imagination ![]() Regardless, I'm still very impressed with Title Bout!! I have an idea about talking some friends into playing Fantasy Boxing using Title Bout. I may have to put up a trophy or some prize money to get it off the ground, but I think in a multiplayer setting with rooting interests it could be quite fun!! |
