OOTP 10, the very best one!

Having a blast playing this version. Not one crash yet! I had so many with OOTP 9 that I gave up and even played some BM instead.

That widget is just phenomenal, it makes the game so much more enjoyable and thanks to PadresFan and his ballparks the game really comes alive!

This version is by far the best one released yet. (Bought them all).

Congratulations Markus and the team! Job well done!

Couldn't have said it better myself. I can finally put v6.5 to rest.

Wow. That is a heavy statement. Seriously, considering how many of us are still posting nostalgic about that version to this day.

It was my favorite baseball sim for many years.. probably played it more than FOF, which is quite an achievement.

I warmed up a little bit to v9.. but something about v10 that has me playing 4-6 games every night when I get home from work and many more games on the weekend.

Maybe I've finally grown into the interface jump from 6.5 to present day. Whatever it is, I'm back to that feeling and immersion I have with 6.5.

I loved 6.51, too.

But it really can't compare to OOTP10.

I've only had 1 crash when I tried to import a version 9 league. The HOF was wiped clean and when I tried to add a player is when it crashed. I just started the league over and gave up trying to import.

Coming from Eugene that's quite the compliment.

I'm really encouraged by threads like this one. I've played OOTP since either version 4 or version 5; I know I was playing a lot of v5, and that's when I started writing dynasties. I thoroughly enjoyed the v6 series, and I jumped on v7 as soon as it came out.

It disappointed me so much that I nearly didn't buy v8, but went ahead and took a chance. I'm glad I did, because I've really enjoyed it, too.

I didn't buy v9, because it came out at a time when finances were particularly tight at my house. After the mostly positive comments I've been reading about v10, I think I'll be adding it to my OOTP collection very soon.

Damn you people! I was hoping that you would have said that you was all sticking with 9!! Now I have to find the money for this and Madden 10! If only it was slightly cheaper my wife wouldn't mind so much but 40 euro's is kinda hard to justify this time of year. Oh well I'll have to sell some stuff to keep the wife happy. LOL

Almost embarrassed to admit, but this morning I finally played my first game of Spring Training, pitch by pitch, widgets and all. It's the first complete in-game experience I've had since, well, a long time.

This is the best game experience I have EVER had playing OOTP. Widget orientation and play-by-play combined to give me an immersion that surpassed my expectations! pstrickert will chuckle at this, but I'm actually at a loss for words.

This is good stuff.

I concur. I've never had more fun playing a game. It has even taken away from the time I spend on the PS3 with MLB The Show and Pro Yakyu Spirits, my previous first class time killers. This is simply put the best baseball game ever published.

The new widgets are one of my favorite additions in v10. The game is definitely immersive and fun to play game by game.

The thing I like about 6.5 is the overall precision and tightness of the game. There isnt too much fluff in 6.5 which is what I love so much about it. It's a raw, efficient, minimalistic program that you can feel is programmed very efficiently.

I dont want to complain about X, but it just seems like it's too fluffy at times, too bloated with graphics, like the graphics outweigh the stats and the ratings sometimes.

I dont know. Im an old programmer. 6.5 was a real techy, programmer, minimalistic type of program. I think thats what made it so special.

It seemed geared for real techheads and statheads, and not the mass market.

It's a brave man who would suggest that OOTPX is geared to the mass market!!!!! I still have many fond memories of 6.51, and, like many, it took me some time (ie. a couple of versions) to warm to the new interface of the current game. I think if you do give it time it will grow on you and you'll find that the underlying program has only been enhanced from the 6.5 days. The immersion factor is far greater, as is the level of detail. More of everything and in most every case better executed. This is the first version of the program that made me understand why a diametric shift away from 6.5 was beneficial and necessary. Worth it in the end, though the way here was often rocky.
