Touble making a backup?
Anyone else having trouble making backup leagues? I've tried twice with my current league, but while copying messages for the backup league, OOTP freezes and in task manager it says it is "not responding."
Thanks |

It takes a long time. Just be patient it will work eventually. Just don't touch anything and it'll come

I haven't run into that, but some people just go into their 'My Documents\Out of the Park Developments' folder and make a copy of their league folder. That should get everything.

Also
Everythig everyone else said, but also, ignore task managers 'not respoinding' for OOTP, it can happen at year end, when saving/ backing up, it usually means it is just going slow.
When OOTP crashes, you'll know, there is an error message and it closes. |

This is a little gem Minnelli came up with back in 2006-07 that I still use today with OOTP X.
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...tore-save.html Read the linked post for instructions and you do have to have winrar. Not sure if you have to own it as the demo used to work but even if you have to buy it, it is well worth it even if only used for OOTP IMHO. You may have to make small changes in the command line of the batch file (ie I had to change "\program files" to "program files (x86) since I'm on Vista 64) for it to work. My simple batch file looks like this Quote:
To archive to dvd I copy and rename the file in this format "XX-YEAR-OOTP_Save_10". (XX = game number) So game 50 of 2018 gets named "50-2018-OOTP_Save_10" I backup after every session of playing OOTP. I copy\rename the file every 5 games on a different location on my HD (never loose more than one time through the rotation). I burn backups to dvd about every 20 games or so. May be a little anal but I manage every game and have too much time invested to loose a big chunk of games. |
