BZ 3463: Feeder league players never exceed 1 potential

in 1 of my leagues, I managed in a high school feeder league for 5 years, and in the 5 years my teams never got a player better than 1 star of talent, and there werent any players above 1 star in free agency. are players just randomly generated to feeder league teams or is there some sort of scouting that you have to do to get players onto your team?

I have a league that has feeders (both HS and COL).
Do you mean Overall Talent never got above 1 star?

I would agree with you....but for HS and COL players they are still very raw.
It is the potential rating I would be looking at for these players.
If you never have any players with potential ratings over 1 star I would be concerned.

by talent I meant potential. That's why I quit my job in the feeder league and signed with a major league team

Damien,

I'm not quite sure how to answer this, and I'll see if I can get someone else in here to take a peek.

In general, it's my belief that feeder leagues aren't really intended for you to manage. Really, they're mainly a way to have meaningful statistics for players entering the amateur draft.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean that there should be no players with more than one star...like I said, I'll see if someone else can jump in...

Steve

Damien,

Steve is right, these leagues are not really intended to be managed. And I'll have to look at the code to see why you'Re only seeing 1-star players. Damned, sometimes I even don't know my own game. LOL

I logged this as issue 3463. Is there any way you could FTP us your league files so Markus can take a look?

Thanks!

Steve

I have simmed a few years more, so I'm managing in the majors now. If that's a problem, then sorry, I'll see if I can do it again. If not, then I'll send the file out.
