Is there anyway to reduce the lag when playing?

Basically whenever I go to different screens it takes a few seconds to load. Is there any options to reduce this lag?

I suppose 'new computer' isn't the answer you want to hear, is it?

Seriously, the less things taking up memory, the better. Sometimes I turn off my anti-virus when I'm beta testing or simming big leagues. That kind of stuff can help.

My computer is pretty good, 2gb of ram is only hinderance, but it was top of the line 1.5 years ago

I don't know if I can answer your question, but I will say that my computer was "middle of the line" 2 years ago when I bought it off the shelf (don't get married, you won't ever get what you want...), and I am not having any problems with lag. I also just did a full clean install of Vista about 3 weeks ago, so I don't know if that may be helping me.

Also, how big is your league? It could also be that I generally play with much smaller leagues as well....

I have clean install of XP that is only a few weeks old.

League is American Majors, but I simmed like 80 years, could that be why?

I was hoping there was some animation setting for the popups that could be slowing it down.

Edit, NM Turning off Virus Scan did speed it up
