contraction? then draft?

can I contract 6 teams and then set a draft for all the players who were on those 6 teams? I got the team removal figured out, just not sure about the intitial draft of the released players

Nope. Pretty sure you can only do the standard expansion draft from the rosters of the remaining ML teams. I don't really know of course. But I'm pretty sure. 99%

shoot, was hoping to pull this off, i like the idea of a 24 team league, but can't just have everyone as free agents

You could always contract the 6 teams then release all players on the 24 teams to become free agents and then have an inaugural draft. You could look at it as MLB contracts the rosters and then has a redraft to allow for fairness and equity on the players available. The only down side is that your rosters will be too star heavy and the stats will get skewed a bit. Using all players but only 24 teams will leave many teams with a star at most positions. You can also just edit the released players onto rosters and then delete the FAs you don't want. A lot of ways of doing this but all takes a bit of work.

yeah, it's a league me and my buddy are both going to play, so we were hoping for the ability to run a "contraction" draft to start, so we could address our teams needs and still help the other teams....I guess we could do like 2 rounds manually and just pick for each team, 2 rounds should be a huge pain

any quick way to get the free agents on the teams we want them on?

The easiest way is to open the player in the editor and change his team. If you have 2 rounds of 24 that is only 48 players that you would have to edit.
