Importing Old OOTP Leagues
Hey, I'm having a bit of a problem importing my OOTP 8 league into OOTP 9 (in hopes of importing it into OOTP 10). This was a bit of a problem too when I imported from OOTP 7 to OOTP 8. Basically, the game freezes as soon as I click "Import"...my league is only 16 teams and is only 9 seasons in so it's not that big. Anyone have any suggestions for what I can do?

Instinctively, I'd say bear with it. It only looks like it freezes. It may not seem big to you, but there's a lot going on with those imports and messages.dat alone will occupy the machine for quite awhile. I've heard reports of an hour, but that's unusual. I don't think 9 had a progress bar so that made it worse. So again, wait. Let us know. Thanks.

Hmmm, okay, I can try that. When I click on anything else though, the OOTP program has a "Not Responding" in the title so I'm afraid it's just going to sit there. I let it sit for 10-15 minutes one of the times I tried and to no avail. I guess I'll let it sit for longer in hopes of it working it's way through it.

It's not unusual to get the "not responding" message. It's usually bogus and its working. And 15 minutes is definitely not enough time to wait. In converting, patience is definitely a virtue.
Another way to proceed: Move the dat files from the old league folder to another folder and then convert from that folder. Then just copy all the sub folders from the old league to the converted league. The conversion actually only "converts" the dat files. All the other files (images, box scores, etc) in the sub folders are just copied by the conversion program. Copying all those folders & files takes a long time as you'll see if you copy them yourself instead of converting them.

I'm really glad they added a progress message for the v9 to v10 conversion!
