Can't get the game started. Please Help!

I'm using mac os x ver 10.5.7 I download and installed the game but when I goto play it freezes right away (no error msgs or anything). But when I try again I get this msg:

Error

OOTP found that the crashed on startup flag is set. Obviously the game crashed when you started it last time. OOTP will reset the graphics settings to default values. You can set them back later in the Game Preferences dialog.

Somebody please help me.

Is this happening when you click the icon or when you create a game in OOTP? I'm not a Mac guy but the more info we have, the easier we can help. It sounds like a video card error. Do you have the newest drivers?
