Historical League Draft
First let me say that historical leagues are by far my favorite part of this game, and the games ability to play any league for the past 100+ years is one of it's biggest selling points. But I find one thing very frustrating about playing in a carrear-type historical league, the way players enter into the draft.
Having players simply pop into the league as rookies makes farm systems less valuable, and the top pick can launch a team foward in the standings (which outside of football, and Mark Prior dosen't often happen).
The addition to the game I would like to see is a model for historical sims, that makes players available several years before they actually debut with reduced raitings. I know this poses some programming challanges, when dealing with the Layman Archive. But if there was someway to add a randomizer that before each draft would skim through rookies to be over the next 5 years and select players from each year (with certain leanings; more likely to pick players 3 year off or some such)...and then decrease the players current ratings accordingly. The following year it would do the same, with a block on the players already found in minor league systems.
That being said, I know nothing about programming, and will enjoy the game regardless...but the added depth of realism in the draft would make historical leagues that much more enjoyable.
