1800's Schedules for OOTPx

Does anyone have schedules for 1871 through whenever the included OOTP schedules start making sense for the league/game setups the game ships with? Ex 1871 = 2 4tm leagues and 40 games but only 2 or 3 games a week.

The current schedules have way too many games a week and the season therefore ends in early May.

It would be nice if OOTPx ships with better 1800's schedules.

If anyone has them or knows where they are please point me to them. I don't see any here or in the schedule mod forum but maybe I'm just blind.

I would like to propose them for inclusion in OOTPx.

Would be nice. But where do you end the season. In July or October?
I know in 1876 they were playing in september. Not sure for 1871-1875.
Do you just play a 30 game schedule till July?
I make all my schedules from April to October. 189 days.
I set the all-star game as day 95 with the break being 93-97 days.
At first there is a week between games but with only 1 pitchers you get plenty of rest. I just cant get use to a season being over in July.
I think in the real leagues they were playing exhibition games in between league games.

I try never to go above the NA, NL or the NL/AA combined team setup.
If they have 13 teams then i go 12 at the most. I dont count UA or PL.

So for me it wouldnt make sense to make a schedule using more than 8 teams for 1871. Nor would it make sense to make the schedule length more than 40 games for 1871. Anyway someone could just add games if they needed it.

They sound like what is needed. It seems you are matching the OOTP 1800's default league configurations and games played and have adjusted the number of games played in a week to stretch the season out appropriately.

I will share what i have. Of course they arent perfect.
Basically i just split the 189 day season into 23 day sessions.
1-23, 24-46, 47-69, 70-92, 93-97 break, 98-120, 121-143, 144-166,
& 167-189.
Then within each session i schedule according to the total schedule length
and total teams in the league.
This helps me choose how many off days i need and how many games per day.
Like when there are 10 teams in a league and 5 league games on the schedule.
I schedule 2 league games on 1 day and 3 league games on the next. Sometimes i have to schedule a day when all teams play to keep from going over 23 days.

Wow i was thinking they ended in July. So i guess it isnt far fetch to have
the schedule end in October for 1871-1875 after all.
Then again they were probably playing more games than the actual league games but still i cant get use to a baseball season ending in June or July.
Thats the Kentucky Derby going half the track. Stretch runs in June just doesnt seem natural.

Note that the 1871-75 NA had no fixed playing schedule. Instead, teams arranged their playing dates by correspondence. The NL went with fixed playing schedules from its start, but I've not found a copy of the original 1876 NL schedule.

The following list may be of help in figuring out how to structure your schedules. It shows the year, league, opening and closing date of that year's schedule, the number of days the schedule ran, and the number of games scheduled for each club. Since the NA had no fixed schedule, the number of games per team is quite varied. I've included both an average number including all teams, and a limited average featuring only those clubs which played a reasonable number of games that season (in order words, removing the teams that only played a small number of games). The range lists the lowest to highest number of games played that year.
