Use of new pitch ratings and Lahman database
I have done some searching but really cannot find an answer to this question. With the change in pitching to use ratings for actual pitches, how will Lahmans database work with this new process?

The Lahman Master.csv does not include pitching repertoires as the built in OOTP master.csv does so one might assume pitch repertoires are generated either a)semi-randomly or b)the ones included in the OOTP master.csv are used.

If the pitches were generated from the stats that were imported it could probably do a decent enough job getting most pitchers repertoires. |

Here's another related question: If you have recalc on in historical play will pitch types potentially change as a guy's ability or role changes? For instance, will John Smoltz "forget" how to throw a pitch or two if he becomes a reliever or might another pitcher all the sudden throw a good change instead of a decent slider if he gets better or will the pitches remain rather consistent from year to year? If they remain consistent, I'm assuming that guys who switch from RP to SP due to their pitching like 15 innings in their rookie year and then becoming consistent starters will be an exception and will get the right number of pitches when they become SP in real life? It wouldn't make that much sense for a guy who started in 19 of his 20 MLB seasons (with the 1st being a September call-up) to have to learn 2 pitches before he becomes an effective starter, which could take a while.

Glad you understood the answer. What was it? I don't even understand the post that Markus responded to.
