Marg by very close decision. Shane has a huge advantage in speed and can match Tony in strength & toughness. I'm just not sure if Shane's legs can carry him through a full 36 minute war. if they can, we will have a new champion.

I'm going to go with the "old man" and keep my fingers crossed. Not what you'd call smart money, but you can't take it with you

I just read this:

Welterweight titleholder Antonio Margarito was forced to re-wrap his hands before Saturday night's defense against Shane Mosley at Staples Center after Mosley trainer Nazim Richardson discovered an abnormality during the pre-fight inspection.

"It was a plaster-like substance," Golden Boy Promotions attorney Stephen Espinoza told ESPN.com. "It was bagged up by the commission and taken as evidence."
Espinoza said that Dean Lohuis, co-executive director of the California State Athletic Commission, said it was discovered under both of Margarito's wraps.
Margarito's camp could not be reached for comment.
Richardson originally had objected to the amount of tape on Margarito's hands and when it was removed, the foreign substance was discovered, Espinoza said.
Richardson, who trains Bernard Hopkins, had also objected to Felix Trinidad's hand wraps before their historic 2001 undisputed middleweight championship fight. Trinidad was forced to have his hands re-wrapped and Hopkins went on to knock him out in the 12th round to unify titles.

Shane may be up 6-0 and could have even hurt Margarito in the sixth

Never thought I'd see Margarito broken down, but it happened.
Shane TKO 9 in a landslide.
Margarito was out of it after going down at the end of the eighth and never recovered.
Great, great performance from Shane.

Where was the relentless warrior of the Cotto fight? I've only had a chance to read the RbR from the online news, but it sounds like Margarito sent his weaker twin brother to fight for him...

Mosley really needed this win at this point in his career. He never did get a whole lot of credit for beating Oscar and his losses to Vernon Forrest really cast a shadow over his overall standing in the eyes of a lot of fans, critics, writers, etc.

Tonight, he stopped the iron-chinning champion because he had the right strategy and the experience to pull it off. It makes his close loss to Cotto look like nothing more than a close decision loss and not the marking of eroding skills.

He's 37, though. And it would be great if he could go out on top. This is boxing, though. So we know that's probably NOT going to happen.

Mosley tied him up beautifully on the inside and took the left hand away from him. Not totally, but enough to make it a non-factor. And unlike Cotto, he never let his back touch the ropes. It was definitely decided by the CF's tonight!

Highly entertaining fight, even if it was a one-sided ass whooping.

We have the United States, Canada and England all here live talking about the fight. Pretty good. They never had this in the "Roaring 80's!"

Margarito isn't a one punch artist, and needs to throw bunches of punches to score his KO's....Shane crowded him and had faster hand speed. And his body work was enough to cause Margarito to keep his elbows low enough that he could keep tagging him up high.

I KNEW Shane would win this war!

He fought one of the smarter fights you'll see. I have to say that his trainer...the same one that trained Hopkins for his win against Pavlik knows his stuff, because they had the PERFECT strategy in this one.

I just hope people still recognize margarito for the quality fighter that he is, yeah he got his arse handed well and truly to him tonight but shane pulled out a real top performance. When margarito was rocked it took about 10 huge punches before shane could drop him, unbelievable fight.

Usually people over-react. They'll probably say Margarito was overrated, etc. But the truth is, Shane fought using the perfect strategy and used, speed, boxing skills, and finally, power. That's not a mix that every boxer can churn out. He should get more of the credit, I think, than Margarito the blame.

Wow What a performance from Mosley. Just Broke Margarito down. I think it was the sixth round when Margarito went to his corner he looked like a beaten man. Great win for Mosley

Nothing like a little plaster of paris in the wrap to weaken an opponent.

Makes one wonder how many other of Margarito's fights had the "Hands of Plaster"?
