How to manage all teams for one franchise

Greetings all from an OOTP n00b.

Windup: I’ve spent probably 8 hours total going through the manual, forums, playing stand alone ‘games’, creating universes, etc., And I think I am going to like this – a lot. I’ve been in rotis leagues for @ 10 years, and have extensive time invested in SOM and AH’s old Statis-Pro, so I know a few things about MLB as a game.

Pitch: Currently I created a 2000 historical league and am managing a Short A team.

Contact: What I would like to do at this point in OOTP is create a game universe beginning with this 2000 season and manage the entire franchise from farms to the bigs. So far it seems I can create multiple managers, but only certain manager jobs are available for Rookie and Short A ball. Is there a way to do this? I’m betting I have to create something at each league level and then apply for a management job, but not sure if that is the right way nor how to go about it.
Many thanks
Steve

Create only one human manager identity for yourself; assign your identity commissioner powers in manager options, then seize control of a team as GM, not field or minor league manager. Leave the controls set for you to run the minor league affiliates, everything from "farms to bigs," and you should be all set.

Yeah, don't play as a minor league manager.

OOTP just doesn't do this well right now.
