Game Will Not Load or Start Anew
The game used to start and play fine, but now the game starts up, but when I load a game or start a new game it gives me the error message
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I have no idea what the problem is that is causing it nor what to do. Anything would help. Thanks! |

Please try uninstalling OOTP 9 and reinstalling version 9.2.11 to see if that fixes things.

I do have that version installed. Still will not load or start anew. Also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Are you running any other programs at the same time? You could try closing them.
Which operating system are you using and how much RAM do you have? |

Have you tried disabling FaceGen or switching to one of the troubleshooting modes from the main screen game preferences?

Yeah, tried all of the different combinations of Facegen and troubleshooting modes. Same result each time. I can click to load a game and it loads to 100%, but then I get the error message. When starting a new game I can go through first screen where you choose a name and team, but then when click ok on that screen get the error message.

Do you have any anti-virus programs enabled that you could temporarily turn off? Something must have changed.
Try updating all of your Windows files as well as your video card drivers. |

Tried turning off anti-virus and everything is up to date. Nothing has really changed since I purchased the game. Is there anything else left to try? Thanks for your help!

Have you tried defragmenting your hard drive or checking your hard drive for errors? That can occasionally identify and correct issues.

I defragmented hard drive and have continually checked for errors. Still nothing. Anything left to try?

I'm not sure what else to suggest at this point. You could try changing your game's window size from Preferences in the opening screen. You could try toggling between windowed and full screen mode.

Since the game worked for only about a week after I purchased it, is it possible to get a refund of some sort? Or is there anything further to try? I feel bad, but I really played the game twice before this error. Thanks.

Did you buy it for the pc? If so, you could contact support@elicense.com to ask about a refund. If for the Mac, you could contact eSellerate. That, of course, is if you didn't purchase the game through Steam - if so, you'd have to contact those guys.
I'm sorry that we couldn't figure this one out, but I have absolutely no more ideas. |
