Says program not responding more than normal

I just bought ootp 9 and ever since i got it the program when trying to start new games or load content keeps saying not responding then finally works. This happens everyday. Any way to get the game to run smoothly without freezing? Thank you. I run vista with quad core processor and 500 gigs

How much RAM does your computer have? Are you running other programs at the same time?

I've got 3 gigs of ram. I mean that should be plenty for a program like this

Are you running other programs at the same time? Possibly anti-virus scans or the like? Could you try disabling them temporarily?

When you say that it says not responding, how long are you giving it before it hangs up?
