League Template

I have a few questions about using a template for an imported league. The league was created back in ootp 6.12 and has been progressively moved forward through 6.5/2007/OOTP8 and now OOTP9.

Each level of our MLB (AAA,AA,A) are separate leagues. The new templates for the MLB seems to have combined them into a single league with sub leagues. Their structures are way better than the ones I manually made back in older versions of the game Is there a way to move our league over into a template format without losing all the history etc?

The reason I ask is I now want to add a lower level of the minors and it already exists in the template, but if I want add it with our current format, It basically will require me to create the whole league structure by hand (team names, divisions, etc).
