Couple of Questions

I'm a long time 6.0 and 6.5 historical simmer who recently started playing 9 and I have a few questions:

1) One thing I truly enjoyed about simming several hundred years of older versions was how the players didn't always duplicate their real life production. But one thing I've immediately noticed in OOTP9 is how they players do perfrom much more like they did in real life from year to year. Is there a simple way to get a more similar experience to OOTP6.5 in that regard? (example: Mitchell Page had a wonderful start to his career but quickly bottomed out).

2) Randomly as I'm simming year to year, minor league schedules are not loading. One year they are there and gone the next. And back again the following season.

3) Is it just me or is there less minor league development than in previous versions? It seems when new players are added from year to year, they generally are ready to play in the Majors immediately or essentially never will be.

1) I'm no expert on historical play, but if you want to start in some year using the Lahman Database and proceed with results parting from historical stats, then I would turn off certain options in League Setup, Options, such as:
  • Recalc Player Ratings Based On Real Stats After Each Year
  • Retire Players According To History
  • Automatically Import Historical Rookies (this is on the Rules page, not Options)
You may consider disabling these options, depending on how much variation from actual history you are looking for:
  • Automatically Expand League
  • Automatically Adjust League Strategy
  • Import Adjusted Financial Settings After Each Year
  • Automatically Adjust League Totals Modifiers After Each Season For Historical Accuracy
2) I don't know the answer to this one.

3) That can depend on the number of minor league levels that you have. I have four: AAA, AA, A, Rookie, and I have not noticed any accelerated development that you describe. If you only have an AAA league, let's say, then I think you will see a compressed amount of time between new player creation and readiness for major league playing time.

Thanks. I thought there was a simple solution regarding the player performing differently, but since I never adjusted it when playing 6.5, wasn't sure how to proceed.

But now I'm having a bigger problem. After simming 6 season, the game apparentley didn't generate a schedule for the following season. When it came to Opening Day, it began the playoffs with the four teams that qualified the previous season.

Any ideas what happened or what I can do?
