Player Numbers
Feel free to tell me if I'm nitpicking too much here.
I've noticed something else too, especially when a player gets put on/taken off the disabled list.....The player's jersey number changes. Put my pitcher on the DL, he was #29. Take him off, he's #35. #29 was not in use while he was on the DL. I realize this is a very minor issue, just wondering if this comes up with everyone else too. I mean, there HAS to be a lot of people buying my fictional players' jerseys!!! ![]() Also, "star" players are being defaulted to very.......un-major league like numbers. 68, 85, etc. I know this can be easily changed (which is why I think I'm nitpicking ![]() Last edited by Afino; 09-23-2008 at 11:00 PM. |

![]() This is a small issue to bug you. OOTP is only a game. Think of all the real life things that bug you and that really matter. This one you even can control and change. Real life is not so kind. PS: and the old jersey with the old number will become a collector's item,

While I have utmost respect for my colleague kcroyalgm, I disagree with him here.
To me, jersey numbers are an important detail in the game. There is at least one more instance when jersey numbers change, I can't remember how it happens, but whenever I go down the list of players and make some certain adjustment (my apologies for not remembering what it is), my players' jersey numbers change by one, they raise by one. This version of the game seems better to me, at assigning jersey numbers. The old versions seemed to slap a random number between one and 100 on the player. The newest version seems to stick to more reasonable numbers, those less than 60. My opinion is that baseball players should not be allowed to wear any number higher than 55, with the exception of invitees during Spring Training; and only pitchers allowed to wear anything above 50. |

I agree. It would be neat to start being able to know star players' jersey numbers in the game, as in real life. As it is now, I don't pay any attention to them because there's nothing keeping multiple players from having the same number.

Having no duplicate jersey numbers would be a nice feature to add in OOTP10.
