Anymore Patches Planned?
Sorry if this has been asked, but I could not find out, anymore patches planned for this version? Or is everything being left for next year?

Who knows. Markus and Battists seem to have disappeared. Haven't heard anything from them for a month or so.

I won't do a search to find a link. Too lazy today. But there is a mention of an pending big update with, IIRC, a couple of new features included.

Personally I've not heard a word about it. I've seen no mention of anything in the beta forum so perhaps it is around here somewhere. But I've not read anything.
Of course, that only means I've likely missed it. Endgame simply is always on his game. Or so I like to believe. |

Thanks guys...that is what I was kind of seeing. I haven't seen many posts by the developers which was kind of unusual. I know it is a pretty stable version right now but I prefer to wait and really get into it after all the patches have been deployed for a version. So I hope one of the developers sees this and comments as to whether anything else coming out or not.
I wonder why the silence by the developers

Well, it is vacation time. Perhaps after this weekend we'll here a bit more. I for one hope they get in a vacation or two and hope they enjoy it immensely.
And, like you, I like to wait to get into it until after all patches too. So, I'll be following this thread closely as well. I'd bet we'll here a bit more in the next couple of weeks, with summer closing out now. |

I believe they said after the last patch that there should be one more patch. Not sure what would be in it as far as anything new but time will tell.

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...62-post21.html IIRC, and it may be in the same thread, MorseMoose summarizes the inquiry and pins it down even further.

Markus also implied that this "big update" -- to be released before the end of the current baseball season, IIRC -- would include some major upgrades to the PbP. Personally, I doubt it.

Well, like pstrickert I think, I've come to believe the only real surprise is when we have no doubts. It's been an odd year.

Must be nice to be able to afford a 2 month vacation. It's been July since any word from any of them.

I seem to remember a post from one of the higher-ups saying that Markus is out of commission right now because his computer expired. Don't recall any new info after that, or any estimate on when we'll get any. This version of OOTP might be stable (well, unless you count apparently random crashes on exit that kill the faces, which doesn't seem a mark of stability to me; I've had it happen a couple of times.
), but there sure have been a lot of problems talked about the last few weeks. I'm hoping that Markus will concentrate on improving things like on-field AI, player development and line-up selection instead of adding yet more features to the game.

Needs to be in the next Patch
Automatic Unretirement for Players and Staff and Expansion meaning after the Rays and Rockies entered the League or for other Leagues the Computer can decide to expanded to these Cities Future Games All the Spring Training Options out their Teams Local Newspaper with Media Reports from Fictional or Real People and Rumor Mill/Team Organzation/Unisgned Prospects Page like in NHL Eastside Hockey Manager but in a Baseball Version Relocation by Computer owned teams Multi Team Trades,Leagues that can have more Leagues in it like 3 in the MLB so it would be like AL.NL,World or so on Home Run Derby and maybe Hall of Fame Game at the All-Star Game meaning host Cities Past and Present versus other Hall of Famers Appeal of Suspensions and so on PBP needs live Commentary and Play by Play if they are going to fix it

LOL, yeah it must be nice. But, to be fair, Battists showed activity up until 8/07, so I guess one month. And Andreas has been posting this week, today even. Although the posts have mostly been down in the basement.

I have zero doubt that there will be another patch.

My own preference would be for any major new features to be held over for the next version. Gives more time to debug those features so they work properly, as well as seeing how they interact with existing components of the game. Those new features also become selling points for version 10. And of course it leaves more time free to concentrate on getting the bugs out of 9 and revamping some of the stuff which may technically be working the way it's supposed to, but isn't quite cutting it (like line-up selection and on-field AI). I like new features as much as the next person (as long as that next person isn't much interested in sound or ball-flight .....
), but I'd sure like to see the major emphasis placed on getting this program to play a sounder game of ball. Right now I think it's the stuff "under the hood" that needs the most attention.
