Unhappy All my teams are broke!

I'm in like my 20th year now and practically all the computer run teams in my league are out of money. And so every year a ton of really good FA players go unsigned. I had this same problem in OOTP 3.

Anyway could anyone give me any tips on what I could do to get the computer teams in the black again?

Thanks.

How long a season are you running? What are the TV contracts like, what are the sizes of the stadiums, What are your Cash/Salary Cap levels?

These are the kind of details that will be most helpful.

OK here are my financial reports. Most of my teams have zero cash on hand thus I get a lot of unsigned free agents. I might add that I' have noticed a lot of unsigned FA just lately. I don't know if the AI can recover and start signing Free Agents again or not.

I have version 4.2a and I am in about my 20th year of simming. (I am the cubs). I have no salary cap and a team cash max of 50,000,000.

(some of the teams have positive cash values because I have just figured out how to edit each team on the finance screen and give them more cash. )

Loan all your clubs 5 million cash, then up all teams TV contracts (Broadcast Revenue) by another 10-15 million per year (set the amount of years to 100). Nobody will go broke again.

I'd go with Killebrew's suggestion.

How many games a season are you playing? I haven't seen that many teams outspend their earnings by that much since OOTP3, but if you were playing a shorter season that might help explain it.

I believe eventually the computer teams would recover, but I think it would be a very long time for them to do it, as they'd have to wait for the payroll to go down (through free agents leaving) enough that they could become profitable again.

thats why you start at the bottom of the league and sign free agents to those teams who need them to bring their standings up. all 1 year deals so the cpu can handle their future. You'll just be doing them a extra small favor to get things rolling again. And so they wont retire after a year in the FA pool. (happed to me with Vladdy and I was pissed)

Thanks for the tips guys. (I play 162 game seasons BTW)

I might have to edit the fan interest too (if I can). Since some teams have been broke for a while now they can't schedule any promotions or anything. Hence I have a lot of teams with really low fan interest now (along with low ticket prices). Or maybe, once the teams start to turn a profit again, the fan interest will go up on it's own.

Anyway thanks.

I have not played enough to know, but I see some teams made $10,000,000 plus in the previous season but still have - $5mil cash. How is that possible? Are they actually much lower than the - $5mil but only show up as - $5mil?

That's a good question. I have no idea. Maybe there's a cap in the game that limits the amount of money each team can go into the red with?

Because like you pointed out some of my teams should be way under -5,000,000. Heck with my dumb AI competitors maybe I should be glad that the worst they seem to be able to do is go 5 million into the red. :/

The game doesn't let you get worse than -5,000,000 in the hole. (Think of it as an automatic cash infusion to keep you from getting below that level and allowing you to meet payroll).

Also, get rid of those $10 ticket prices. The ideal ticket price is usually one that sells 90 to 95% of your seats for the year. That will maximize your revenue. The 2020 attendance figures are too low, probably because of this.
