Which Database to use?

I am having a tough time in trying to understand when to use what database. In the previous OOTP8 game manual it says to use Master.csv database when setting up a historical league. Now, in the OOTP9 game manual, is says to use the historical_database.odb.

Also, in some of the most current posted threads to date, in which people have asked questions, they are being directed towards older threads that say to use the Master.csv database. for different things.

Does that mean that since I own OOTP9 that I should use the historical_database.odb instead of the Master.csv database?

Should I use different databases for different things? How do you know which database to use and when?

When setting up a historical league, you can use either of those files. It says the same thing on screen when creating the game.

I believe, but am not certain, that you use the master.csv file if you are using the "actual" stats and the historical_database.odb if you are using the "park-neutralized" stats.
