Yeah lets ban sports altogether. People get hurt, killed, injured in all of them.

The difference between those other sports and boxing is...well...the object of those sports isn't solely to punch the opponent until unconscious.

And without reading any of those...how many are a direct result of the sport. Most of those heart attacks (at least ones that I remember) are about a preexisting condition.

Its the boxers bodies and its also their right to use it as they see fit. If you dont like boxing/MMA then dont watch. IMO, people have a right to take risks with their bodies.

You are correct every fighter who steps into the ring knows the consequences and chances they take stepping into the ring.

The object in boxing is to win the fight. KO, TKO, DQ, or judges decision.

It isn't to "solely punch the opponent until unconscious", though that outcome typically makes for exciting fights.

I don't and won't. Just don't be surpirsed when something like this happens. But where is the enjoyment in watching a guy get his brain knocked around inside his skull?

That viewpoint is why you'll probably never like most combat sports (which I'm not saying is a bad or good thing).
You see it that way, I see form, technique, athleticism, style and strategy in both boxing and MMA.

A street fight I'd agree with you.

We'd also have to give up football and hockey as both those sports are rife with bone jarring brain rattling hits.

No idea why people like this sport. It probably won't become very popular.
