How to sign drafted players

Dear All,

I managed to get through the 2008 draft, but absolutely cannot figure out how to sign the drafted players to contracts.

What am I missing?

You don't need to sign them to contracts.

Yep, they automatically get assigned minor league contracts.

What he wants to do like in real life is sign them to a Contract and assign them to the team he wants to put them on.

Which would require the player to have the option to not sign and thus re-enter the draft. Which would mean some sort of 'sign-able' rating would need to be available before a player was selected in a draft.

Like most features in the game I would want this to be optional.
