Considering buying - have a few questions.

1. During inaugural draft, will it stop on each human owned team to let them draft, or only the guy with the current manager profile? Will you have to constantly switch manager profiles throughout the draft to allow each manager to make their choice? Basically, I would HOPE that if you had 5 human teams in a 30 team league, the inaugural draft would proceed, and as it became each human teams turn to draft, they could simply make their selection without have to go switch the "current" manager. I hope that makes sense.

2. How are trades handled in an online league? What if two human players want to trade for the same guy who is currently on a computer run team?

3. How does free agency play out? Is there a specific free agency period? Do computer teams go after big name free agents when they become available? How does this fit with online leagues (where two teams want the same guy)? Even in hotseat leagues, are there "bidding wars" for free agents, or do you simply see a list of guys and select the one you want and pay him his asking price (without other teams getting a shot of outbidding you)?

#1 is yes; you simply select draft until human manager picks

#2 usually online league are comprised of 32 GM's; humans, and the trades are done by the commissioner. If you're dealing with cpu lead teams then you'll have to make offers, sim, then wait for a response from said team.

#3 you go to the available free agents page and make offers. Ususally the smart GM bids a little higher for said player to sway him in their direction HOWEVER, your state (location), winning, his greed, other factors do coe into play. It's not just a meet demand hey i'll play for you game

In online leagues, teams may go without human owners for very short periods of time, but as far as I know, there are no online leagues which have computer-run teams competing with human-owned teams.

Except for brief, occasional vacancies, online leagues have 100% human ownership of teams.

Is this because it's not possible (or feasible), or just a matter of the way it's "usually done"?

If me and a couple of other friends (maybe 4-5 total) wanted to start a 32 team league or whatever, but only wanted/needed our 4-5 teams to be human run and the rest be CPU run, could we do that as an online league? If not, surely we could do it as a hotseat league, couldn't we?

If you CAN do it as an online league, then how would trading fit into that (i.e. two human teams trying to make offers to a CPU team for the same guy)?

Glad to hear that free agents take all of this into account. Based on your answer, it seems like you can get involved in bidding wars for a player (since you said these factors can swing him in your favor). How does this work exactly? Do you make a bid on a guy, and then he takes a few days to make a decision (giving other teams a chance to make him a better offer)? My concern was that if I was manager of team X, and I wanted a free agent, that I could just go open the free agent screen and pick the guy I wanted and hire him straight out without any other team (computer or human owned) having a chance to outbid me.

Thanks for you feedback.
