Another question.. but I downloaded the photos pack on Padresfan site.. I replaced some of the photos with newer pictures, deleted the older photos.. yet when I click reload skin the original photos that I deleted are still appearing? Can anyone help?

The skin shouldn't be related to your photos. It's likely due to location. Did you put the new photos in the same directory as your old ones?

The stadiums are a whole 'nother can of worms and must be individually assigned within the team's options page by file name. You can browse to your ballparks directory (where you put them, right?) and make that selection.

Usually, the game just picks them up when it loads. It has in past version with some expections. Perhaps, you can go to league setup's pic options and have the game update player pics. There's a couple of different choices there about what you want to achieve, but one of them will probably be what you're looking for, at least to attempt a load of new material. See if you can locate that option in the Player and Pic functions.

i've found where to click update/generate player pictures, however... it doesn't allow me to click it. I am under global setup.. player and pic options.. is that the right spot? if so then yeah, it's not letting me click it.

Maybe that begs the question as to how you have the filenames set up. If you removed the original files, the player008.jpg, player 009.jpg, etc... then the new files, I think, will need to have the player ID# or the player's name correctly entered. I don't do historical, so I'm not familiar with the format. Is it Jerry_Green.jpg? Somebody'll pop in and clear that up.

In the past, I've simply - as it appears you did, but we're apparently missing something - renamed or deleted the original and replaced it with one with the same original name. As soon as I would load a new page with the player on it, the pic would update, so there's an element we haven't uncovered yet. In fact, if I get a minute tonight, I'll change one of mine just to see if it takes. Then we'll know if it's a setting or action on your end.

Thanks endgame, it's greatly appreciated. Will await to hear how you make out when trying it out. In the meantime, I think it should be known that some of the pictures have changed, while others haven't. Wasn't aware of this until I looked at Gregor Blanco and saw this his new picture was uploaded correctly, as was Jorge Campillo's. However, Mark Teixeira, Jeff Francoeur, Tom Glavine, Blaine Boyer, and many others weren't updated.

It's safe to say that very little were updated, and a ton of them weren't.

No prob, b10. But now that we know some of yours can be changed, we need to know what's different about those that didn't. Have you checked to see how those files are named? If they match your player exactly, including spelling? I doubt that's it, but we need to rule things out, too.

Like I said, maybe somebody who uses rosters will chime in soon and lend a hand as to how these names are intended to be presented in filenames. If some are changing and some are not, it sure sounds like that's a potential culprit. Glavine should be easy. Maybe you can check him out to be sure everything jibes like it should.

Yup, they are all spelled correctly, and all in the jpeg format.. just like every other photo. They are spelled such as: jeff_francoeur.

And I've tried everything.. jeff_francoeur, Jeff_Francoeur, jeff_Francoeur, Jeff_Francoeur.. None of them change the photo.

Argh... this one has me stumped. Any changes I make, even to coaches, seem to take, but I'm dealing strictly with numbers. I think names would yield the same results. Now, for kicks and giggles, they are .jpeg or .jpg - I don't know if that makes a difference in how the game handles it either.

Here's another suggestion. Move a couple of those that you know aren't working from the saved games/league folder/news/html/images folder to the basic Photos folder in the main directory. See what happens then.

Here's a clue, endgame, I think. When you asked whether b10wick put the photos in a certain directory (\data\photos) he said he deleted the old one and immediately put the new one in there. Was he referring to the folder itself? Did he name and locate the new one properly? Did he unzip the file and if so, did he create a subfolder within \data\photos, like \data\photos\photos and are the pictures in there? That's not uncommon - zipped files can be set to retain folder information and if so will make a folder inside a folder if it's unzipped inside the first folder.

Edit: Ahh, never mind. Missed post #11 in which he says he has partial success. Probably has to do with name matching, which must be exact. You suggestion to move the photos to \data\photos is a good one, in case the player photo files inside the saved game are no good. I would only add that he go through that folder (saved games/[game name].lg/news/html/images) and delete all the photo files that he finds in there. Put them all in \data\photos and make the game find them again by restarting OOTP.

Sorry for the long awaited reply.. was working all of today and then went to the college I will be attending in the fall to register for my classes, but anyways..

I'm still fooling around with this, trying to get it to work..

They are all in the .jpeg form.

FINALLY! Solved the problem.

When I first opened the OOTP 9 folder there was a folder for photos in the main directory, where each of the photos I had downloaded had been placed.. I had been replacing photos in that directory, and apparently.. once I viewed a photo in my current season it wouldn't update the photo unless I hadn't viewed it yet.

For instance, I looked at Tom Glavine's profile, leaving me stuck with his old photo.. In the meantime I had yet to look at Gregor Blanco's, Buddy Carlyle's, etc. Therefor, the new photo that I had put in replacement took change.

Thanks to endgames recent post about the folder for photos inside the savedgames/yourseason or whatever it is, I was able to navigate to it, and replace a couple of those photos.. Then realizing that the changes were taking place.

Thanks to everyone that has helped through the situation, especially you endgame. couldnt've done it without that tip.
