Use ISO-3166 for county abbreviations?

The nations.txt file and the game use 3-letter abbreviations for countries. There is an international standard for this, the ISO-3166, but the game doesn't use it.

For example, for Bangladesh, the game uses BAN instead of the standard BGD.

I recommend that OOTP use the ISO standard for its country abbreviations in the future.

If you can edit the abbreviations into a nations.txt file, I will create a BZ and upload it to Markus and Andreas for consideration, then lobby for it to be used.

That's no problem, I've already made several different versions of the nations.txt file for my own uses. I'll create a modified version of this file, and include my updated flags (the flag graphics' file names must be changed too, to match the new abbreviations).

I don't know how much general use these mods would be to the general community, although I've already installed these changes into my game. I'll be happy to provide them though. Give me about 24 hours, and I'll get them to you.
