Baseball Pet Peeves
There are a couple of obvious ones:
• Stupidly warning benches after a hit batter/close pitch without allowing retaliation. • Umpires and their antics (strike three, ejection, etc). • Fake third to first pick-off • Celebrating for doing your job (see Joba for one) • And more... Here's one that I haven't seen... • The bogus ask the third/first base umpire if the guy went. If the first/third base umpire saw the guy go, he should just say immediately. There is really no reason to have the homeplate umpire ask. You're not showing him up, you just had a better view at it. |

The idea of saves is annoying to me. It's the clearest example of changing strategy to fit a statistic. Tail wags dog.

Domes. (not Fukudome)
I hate dome ballparks. 1. The air pressure gives me the headaches... 2. Beer does not taste as good in the domes.

The Yankees and the fact they exist are a pet peeve. Boston is making good progress towards that same end.

Pitcher who commits an error leading to runs scored but is not charged for the "earned" runs. (happened last night - Jesse Litsch).
Making the pitcher throw 4 balls for the intentional walk. How often do you see a wild pitch or the hitter even attempt to swing in an IW situation? Not often enough. Just put him on!

Catchers walking out to the mound multiple times per inning or even multiple times per at-bat. Jorge Posada is one of the worst offenders of this, especially in playoff games.

I completely disagree. Ball/Strike calls are solely the home plate umpires decision. If he feels he needs help he can ask for it but a base umpire should never intervene on a strike call without being asked.

The LOOGY. All relievers should have to pitch to either a minimum of 3 batters or the side is retired, which ever comes first.
