Brandon Inge angles for a lucrative pillow endorsement

Brandon Inge angles for a lucrative pillow endorsement - Big League Stew - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

Quote:
We've heard about players getting hurt while sneezing, while sleepwalking through a nightmare about spiders and after kicking an iron bar stool.

But we had never heard of a pillow-lifting injury in baseball — that is, until Detroit Tigers' everyman Brandon Inge reported an overstuffed owie on Wednesday, earning a feather-paved (and probably overdue) path to the injury list.
I was FLAMED (not really - I exaggerate) for complaining about Chien-Ming Wang hurting his foot while running the bases in an interleague game. My point was that AL pitchers are not used to running the bases and are more liable to injure themselves doing so than their NL counterparts.

My complaint was not against NL-style baseball, but against interleague play. I moaned about losing our star pitcher in an unimportant game against the Astros which we won by a score of 13-0 or something like that.

I was chided about these being professional athletes, that they should be in shape enough to avoid injuries that merely involve participating in a baseball game the way it was originally meant to be played. What are we to make, then, of a player who injures himself with a pillow? (Hee, hee - not about the injury of course, but with a pillow? ).

Wow, you have no heart, do you? This is really sad that you would decide to use another person's misfortune so as to make funny.

Classic. Try to weasel your way out, oh I really said this, blah blah blah.

I've reformed. I'm a paragon of virtue. Or vultures. One or the other.

In related news, it's now being reported that Inge had a fight with the pillow because it tried taking his spot in the bed.

Not a chance I'm going to knock a guy who just played almost a whole month with a strained oblique. I don't care how he re-injured it.
