Question about team abbreviations

I see that a team in OOTP can have an abbreviation of three letters (PIT, NYY) or two (KC, SF).

What about a one-letter abbreviation?

Reason I ask: The abbreviations show up on the player caps. I'd rather have a gold P in that circle on Pirate caps than PIT. (I'd be conducting a league where every team had a different initial, so no database conflicts would arise.)

Thanks.

I tried it in a test league and it seemed to work fine. However, consider the possible confusion from using certain letters by themselves, specifically:

A Assists
C Catcher
E Errors
G Games
H Hits
K Strikeouts
L Losses
P Pitcher
R Runs
S Saves
T Tie
W Wins

Just to play devil's advocate, I started a league of 12 teams with these abbreviations. You have a much stronger mind than I do if you would never think of Scott Springer as a Catcher (he's a LF) or of Vince Howard as being Tied with somebody in the batting average race.

1998,

Thanks for taking the time to run a test. Puts my request in perspective, for sure.

Thought I could be lazy and not use a mod for the cap logos, but guess I'll just have to learn how to use them.

Why not download some cap logos and keep the 3 letter city abbreviations??? You could find some here:
FaceGen 1

And if you need help in figuring out how to make them appear on your hats, I'd be happy to try, as would others I would imagine.

Thanks, OFG. Once I take the plunge, I'll be taking you up on that offer.

I never looked into the mods that didn't display their contents in thumbnails, but sounds like what I want is under the link you provided.
