Interesting Issue
OK, so I started a league in 1977 based on the MLB setup. I also added all other leagues, such as the Nippon League, Cuban League, etc. I then added a small Canadian semi-pro league, as well as a couple semi-pro leagues in the US. At some point, I also accidentally added the standard MAL (Major American League). About February, shortly after inception, I realize that I have two parallel US Major Leagues going on. To solve this issue, I go to the league setup screen and delete the MAL. Problem solved.
Now in 2003, I have just noticed that the players that were on the MAL teams are still on those teams, and have not yet retired. You cannot locate the teams, but by searching for players, you can get to the team's page. My question is this. Is there a way to quickly force these players to retire and delete these teams for good, or am I stuck with them just out there in Neverland? All those players not retiring makes for an old team! |

Try releasing all the players in the league function area. They should retire shortly thereafter.

Nice idea, but because I deleted the leagues first, there is no league function area. That's actually the first idea I had when I stumbled upon this problem. Thanks for the help though.

Could you use the player editor to manually move them?

I think the best solution would to be to use the nice retire feature in commissioner mode, and force them all to retire. There will be a bunch of retired players that don't really have any stats, but I think it would work. The only problem with that is that you have to work with each one manually, but with the input from Markus this morning, I don't see a way around that.

I will have to double check when I get home, but I believe they also show up when you are looking at all active players. Also, when you search for a name, it is true these players would still show up, but it would say they are retired in the search window. By the way, thank you for that search option. It is wonderful.
