No Free Agents in the Outfield!

I was looking through my Free Agent list and discovered that there are no free agents for any of the outfield positions - the free agents stop after SS.

Does anyone know why this is?

Well, it could be any number of reasons. Is this a new league? Just how many players are listed as free agents?

Do you have any sort of filter applied? If not saved, it may not be apparent that you do. See if you can select the option to clear filters.

Also, make sure that you aren't making the selection to display only certain positions.

I'm just completing my 6th season. There seem to be about 300 players listed from SP-SS. There were no filters on. All Players was turned on. Since Filters was not in use - the option to turn it off was "grayed" out.

Do the AI teams have an unusual number of OFs stashed in their minor leagues?

I have "no limit" on minor league rosters. I tested 10 minor league teams and the totals were all over the board. Attached is a spreadsheet of my results...

Well, that might be a large part of your problem, then. Just how many levels of minor leagues do you have? If you apply some roster limits, even high ones, you should get some of these guys released into the pool.

I have 3 levels of minor leagues. When my current season ends, I'll try to put some kind of limit on minor league teams and see if that helps - but I won't be playing another season until OOTP 9.

By the way, thanks for your support. It is appreciated.

Yeah, the teams with 19 and 35 OFs in three levels of minors were going a bit overboard. However, without roster limits applied the AI really has no incentive not to stockpile players.

I'm glad that I can help out a bit. If you need anything further, don't hesitate to ask.

Closing this out for now.
