ILBL Has Openings

The ILBL (http://theilbl.tripod.com) now just finished with it's second season has five openings.

Boston - Boston is a good team, they missed the wild card by one game this past season, and are prime to take over one of the weaker divisions in the league.

Seattle - A unique opportunity to take over a team with a very strong farm system and some good young prospects already at the big league level. They need to make a few trades and could be a force to be reckoned with within a season.

San Diego - This is a team that needs a dedicated owner. The last owner left it in pretty bad shape, but it has some decent prospects, and under the right management could have a promising future.

Colorado - The Rockies are a pretty good team, they lack spectacular starting pitching, but they make up for it with offense. Jim Thome had 78 homers this past season for them, so if you think you're up to the Coors challenge, here's your chance.

Philadelphia - Another opportunity to take a team that is up and coming because of young guys getting ready to make it to the big show.

Detroit and Memphis are being contracted in the offseason, and the minor league talent there will be dispersed through a lottery so any of these teams have the chance to get a few very good prospects. Also, the big leaguers from those teams are hitting free agency.

Boston and Colorado are taken.

That leaves Seattle, San Diego, and Philly.

Seattle will be a force to be reckoned with in a season or two when all of its prospects come into their own. A few outfielders have already made it to the big league level, don't let the poor record fool you into thinking it's going nowhere.

Once again, San Diego and Philly are good opportunities for someone looking to rebuild a team. They have some nice young prospects and should pick up a few more in the draft and from the contraction dispersal draft. Both these teams will require dedicated owners, however, since they are 'rebuild specials'.

I was about to make my update. Seattle and San Diego are now also taken.

That just leaves Philadelphia. Philadelphia willl get it's own thread. When I start it, I will link to it here.

The ILBL is now filled. Thanks to everyone who joined or asked for a team. If you would like to be on our waiting list, then please send me an e-mail. Otherwise, best of luck to everyone.
