OOTP 9 - historically accurate names?

Wondering if anyone on the OOTP development or beta teams know whether OOTP 9 better handles updates to the .txt files that enable realistic historical names?

I, unfortunately, quit playing OOTP 8 after modifying the .txt files to get 1940s era names, only to have the game malfunction in this area when trying to update the file when I got to the 50s or 60s. I put a lot of frustrating posts on the Tech Support forum, but no answers or solutions were ever posted, so I gave up and spent the rest of my time doing something else.

But, I'm excited for OOTP 9 and have pre-ordered. I would HATE, however, to create a new league in the 1940s, set the files to generate era-accurate names, and then discover I'm stuck with them for all eternity -- loading my league with Georges and Alfreds and Kenneths when I get to 1970 or so.

Any knowledge out there of this area?

It involves creating a new 'country' and then either changing countries when you want to use the different names file OR changing the names files out in the original country at that point.
