Will rain delays be brought back in OOTP9?

Rain delays are in OOTP 2007 / OOTP 8.

See this box score:

Yeah, I had a 50 minute one in the last game I played.

HA! That's cool. I never even realized that they were currently in the game. How about completely raining a game out and it has to be rescheduled..will that be in OOTP 9?

They need rain-outs, IMO.

It's more complicated than it seems to do it correctly, especially for historical leagues.

Oh, I have no doubt it's difficult. It's just something I would like to see down the road once the scheduler gets refined.

Me too.

But in the meantime you can manually deal with postponed games by modifying the schedule yourself. You won't get any games started and then postponed, or shortened games due to rain, but you can easily cancel a game and reschedule it for another day -- or never play it.

I'm more of a single-team player than a god moder. Good suggestion, though.

I'd like doubleheaders as well but I wonder whether the AO could handle them??

Sorry for a stupid question, Not living in the US and so on.
A doubleheader is two games after each other the same day, BUT are ALL DH the results of rainouts and such.

I know I can look it up but surely a fast Q will set me straight. On opening day NO schedule have any DH already know then ???

Could we "mess" with the schedule and create DH now and then. The AI would mess up the games says one. Is this so ???

It depends on the schedule. Some minor leagues have scheduled double headers I believe. You'd have to ask LGO to get a definitive answer though.

I believe the main problem is the games aren't displayed correctly on certain screens - ie. in the team schedule only one game is shown on the calendar instead of both, and also the starting pitcher for the second game is only correct after the first game of the two is played. I think they play fine.
You can mess with the schedule to create doubleheaders no problem. Or some of the schedules that have been created here have them already and if they fit the league structure you want, you can import them straight in with them intact.

As for doubleheaders in real life, at least in the majors today they are only for rescheduled games. They're not originally on the schedule. The further back you go the more common the scheduled doubleheaders are.

And complicating matters further is that some leagues play two seven inning games, and some play a seven and a nine inning game.

And LGO can correct if needed and add more details, which I'm sure there are.

Rain Delays

The only reason I asked about the rain delays is what I read from the OOTP8 manual on page 437 states, "There are no weather-related delays or game cancellations in OOTP8." Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

Not correct. They probably just auto updated OOTP2006 to OOTP2007 (then of course OOTP2007 to OOTP8) last year and didn't fix that part of the manual.
