Crashing Problems on Mac

I've been having problems with crashing since OOTP 7. But on 7 the only thing I had problems with was custom rosters. Fictional leagues worked fine. I upgraded to 8 so I could get the mlb quick start, and it worked fine at first. Then once we got to June, it started crashing when I would advance in days, or at other random moments. Then about a week ago it crashed while it was saving, and now it crashes anytime I try to do anything in that file. I figure it's probably fried that file, but I would like to avoid any problems before starting a new league. Any suggestions?
